Carbon footprint analysis and eco-efficiency strategy.
A large energy company asked DE to bring their environmental skills to their organization and to perform a greenhouse gas footprint. This project required a systems approach to their operation as the organization was broken up into its key functional units (zones). This approach allowed for operational parameters to be linked to carbon intensity.
The DE team drew from experience in the automotive manufacturing sector to do the initial process analysis. The ISO 14065 greenhouse gas analysis standards were use as foundation for the project. This standard approach was then adapted to the specific circumstance. This work was key to determining ways of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving eco-efficiency.
