DE, in collaboration with UN DESA and CARICOM delivered a three day workshop in Belize (April 30, May 1, 2), presenting the results of two different projects. The first project was with UN DESA and focused on assessing data solutions for nature in Caribbean SIDS, focusing on three themes:

(1) Data coordination and governance

(2) Data production

(3) Data dissemination

The second project was with CARICOM and focused on assessing biodiversity and chemicals waste MEA reporting in the Caribbean region. A summary report and monitoring framework was launched at this meeting and can be found here: LINK.

UNCBD Focal Points and representatives national statistical offices came from across the Caribbean to participate in this workshop. The workshop activities led to findings that identified best practices for data for nature in Caribbean SIDS and the starting point for a collaborative roadmap.
