PharmAfrican Inc. — Carbon Strategy

Envi­ron­men­tal strat­e­gy includ­ing car­bon man­age­ment plan, and cli­mate change mit­i­ga­tion and adap­ta­tion analy­sis.

Phar­mAfrican Inc. is an ear­ly stage bio-phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal com­pa­ny focused on devel­op­ing prod­ucts from the forests of the Demo­c­ra­t­ic Repub­lic of the Con­go. DE worked with Phar­mAfrican to first edu­cate them about the car­bon mar­ket and how their busi­ness can ben­e­fit from car­bon off­set cred­it cre­ation. DE then start­ed to devel­op their envi­ron­men­tal man­age­ment plan which includ­ing car­bon man­age­ment but also cli­mate change mit­i­ga­tion, adap­ta­tion, and CSR (cor­po­rate social respon­si­bil­i­ty). DE aligned PharmAfrican’s envi­ron­men­tal man­age­ment pro­gram with inter­na­tion­al stan­dards for CSR and also inter­na­tion­al cli­mate change pol­i­cy.

DE con­tin­ues two work with Phar­mAfrican to enhance and improve their car­bon off­set pro­grams. The focus of this work is on afforesta­tion and refor­esta­tion (AR) and avoid­ed defor­esta­tion (REDD) projects.
